Standing 87 meters above the sea below, Mine Head Lighthouse - the highest light on the Irish coastline - stands tall above dramatic cliffs near the village of Old Parish, County Waterford.

For any lighthouse enthusiasts out there looking to visit Mine Head, the only road leading to the lighthouse is a private road running through a working cattle farm. I was lucky enough to bump into the farmer to ask his permission to drive as far as the road allowed me, requiring me to climb over a gate and walk past open cattle fields, which looking back on, probably wasn't the best idea. However, views of the lighthouse after my little adventure were just as good as the views you can get by traveling along the roads near Old Parish - so no need to go through the farm!
